St. Anne’s Residence – Azhagappapuram

   March 19, 2024

In commemoration of the completion of 75 years of our Azhagappapuram Convent, it was decided to build the old aged home in Azhagappapuram. Accordingly, the foundation stone was laid on November 1, 2022, with the permission and financial support of our Superior General Mother Reginal and the initiative of our Valan Province Provincial, Reverend Sister Arokia Mary. The residence was inaugurated on March 19, 2024, and blessed by Most Reverend Dr. Yvon Ambroise, Bishop – Emeritus of Tuticorin, and opened by our Superior General. This mission will be processed by the upcoming academic year starting in June 2024.

Many people live abroad, leaving their ageing parents alone with no one to take care of them. This home is a boon for seniors who don’t have any support from their families due to various reasons. The intention of this paid home is to provide love and care for the aged people. It is a residential facility with nursing and assisted living facilities for older adults, both men and women. This home provides seniors with ample opportunities to socialize with peers, helping to reduce loneliness, depression, and other mental health issues prevalent among seniors. It provides a secure and comfortable living space for the elderly, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being. In this residence, special care is given to aged people by showing respect, love, and affection.
