The Joachim Province of SAT celebrated the year of Consecrated Life as the family day of the province on 6th September, Sunday. At 9.00 a.m., the sisters of Joachim Province gathered in the Mother House of SAT at Melapudhur. Totally 286 sisters participated in this celebration.

First, all the sisters gathered in front of St. Anne’s House. The Congregation flag was hoisted by Rev. Mother Reginal, the Superior General, followed by taking the oath of the Congregation, lead by Rev. Sr. Susai Mary, the Provincial of Joachim Province. Then the sisters sang the Congregational Anthem. Then the sisters proceeded to the chapel in a procession by reciting the Rosary. The Blessed Sacrament was exposed by the Provincial and followed by one hour prayer, conducted by the sisters.

The Holy Mass, presided by Rev. Fr. Dass Kennedy SDB, Vice-Provincial of Salesian, was concelebrated by Rev. Fr. Eugine, Spiritual director of Philosophy students, St. Paul’s Seminary, Rev. Fr. Lawrence, the Confessor, Rev. Fr. Stani, St. Joseph’s College and Rev. Fr. Michael John, Director, New Hostel, St. Joseph’s College, Trichy.

The sisters enjoyed the fellowship meal together and around 2.30 p.m. they gathered in the Community College Hall where Mother General and the former Provincials of Joachim Province were honoured. The school students in Melapudhur performed cultural programmes. The former Provincials felicitated the sisters. Rev. Mother Reginal, the Superior General, delivered the Province day message.

Finally Sr. Susai Mary, Provincial, concluded this celebration by giving gifts to all the sisters of the Province. The celebration came to an end around 4.30 p.m. with the Papal Anthem.
